Iphone no icon problem?

I updated my iphone 4 from 4.1 to 4.2.1 and limera1n didnt work nor did cydia so i did some digging and found Redsn0w, i used the 4.1 ISWP so that it would downgrade it didnt work, and i restored with itunes to my last backup wich was right after i updated. it restored and when i turned it on every icon was gone it was blank it said it had service, could take a screenshot but had nothing on there absalutely nothing but a wallpaper, i could swipe and search for apps but that was it. there is nothing on my phone. what is wrong (p.s i tried redsn0w with 4.2 didnt work either
