in this case you dont have permision to know wish version of iphone

just put original carrier sim or one sim ang plug to your on line computer and open up itunes, unit will activate, problem solve.

1st you must edit to 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com on C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc host.
then enter recovery mode,restore with 3.1.3 ,then jailbreak with sprit.then unlock with redsn0w.
& post result.

apple alows you to flash 3gs with 3.1.3 ? you can only flash itonly by 4.0 but after that no jailbrake no unlock .. i also have 2 sets DISABLED by phone code

Hi can restore to lower version only if phone have shsh on that version, if not, then only solution is 4.0 and if new iboot, then hi must wait for new jailbreak
