IPhone 3g, spinning wheel?

I have a 3G 8gb iPhone that is stuck on the spinning wheel, it wont go into DFU mode and it wont detect in in itunes either, every 10 minutes it will restart and and start the spinning wheel again.

Does anyone know how to get this to restore?
 
No it cant, the phone was fine, i just used the reset button in the settings to erase all content.
 
No , you have do the full erase and now you will se only apple logo!

But now you need to restore on this way!

keep together hold power button and home button , phone was getting switch off , and after that quickly pres power button for 3 second , after that do not release power button , pres home button for 8 second after that release power button and keep holding home button till itunes was detected the phone.

yes the flashing procedure
is hold the home buttom while it's off & attach cable
then itunes will detect the device & use restore for example 3.1.3 if it 3g not s
if s you have to restore with the firmware 4.0.1
