Ion Drum Pedal not registering fast hits.?

ok very confused so i apologize if this comes out hard to understand. I bought the RBP Ultimate Drum kit from Rockbandparts.com. It comes with a High Hat trigger that looks exactly like the Ion Drum Rocker stock pedal and from what i understand, IS the same thing. Now i have been using my regular kick trigger but it is noisy and i have received complaint from my apartment neighbors about it so i was going to just use the high hat pedal with the ION drum brain. problem is it wont register fast hits at all. It will only register every .5 seconds. (as long as you pause that long) If you try and hit multiple times frequently. say in 4/4 time each of the four notes have a kick then it wont register the last three (and this continues until you take the time to let it go the half second to "reset") I am currently playing RB3 and it reacts the same way WITH and WITHOUT high hat pedal activated. And when i do plug it into my DD502 Drum Brain as a high hat pedal it works every time i hit it, plus keeping it closed or open. If i plug it in as the kick in the DD502 it wont register the hit. I know that's because the High hat sensor is an "on/off" sensor and the kick trigger sensor is a piezo "hey i got hit" sensor. So i don't see a problem there. It is mainly that it works fine in its dedicated drum brain, but not in the ION drum brain even though they APPEAR to be the same pedal. I emphasize "appear" because i am now wondering if the pedal is different even if in the slightest way than the one that comes with the Ion Drum Rocker. Questions im looking for answers are:

Are they the same pedal yes or no and why?

How can i fix this high hat pedal to work flawlessly with the ION Drum Brain (ps3)?

thanks to anybody who helps!!! Best answer to first person that can answer the second question correctly OR both answers correctly (if at same time frame.)
