We have a dispute with our plumber who had agreed on a price of Euro 60 over the phone with us to service our boiler. After completion of the work , he quoted euro 100 which we dispute. Next day he came and gave us a invoice for euro 100 and brought a friend as a witness. We have written to him on registered letter and outlined the the fact that we are willing to give Euro 60 and not Euro 100 as agreed previously. He has now sent a solicitor's letter which states that we owe a debt of 100 and request us to settle the amount in 7 days. I wish to have some advice as how to proceed. We do not wish to be ripped off and are willing to pay euro 60 but not Euro 100. How should we proceed ?
Hi Colin , no it was a quote as he had serviced our boiler last winter as well. Infact a day earlier he had changed the timer for us. And when i asked him to service the boiler he said Euro 60. Thanks to advice if we can make a claim against him in the small claims court and report him to National consumer Authority.
