Invasion - Daniel Craig

it opens on friday and there will be no big premiere as it flopped in the states and got terrible reviews. it looks AWFUL, especially considering how great the original and first remake are (the 70s version terrified me as a child).

i wish people would stop giving nicole kidman roles :(

You can't blame her for an entire movie sucking, even if you dislike her acting.

Bring on 'The Golden Compass,' I bet her and Craig are great in it.

she should be good in TGC

she is great when playing cold and distant - the others for example

but as for comedy and 'caring mother'...
actually she should be ideal as mrs coulter

This is the "Unchained Melody" of movies. Every decade or so a new version. I wonder what the record is for remakes of an original film (ie not Shakespeare, Dickens etc)?

Not keen on NK and consequently try to avoid her work.

However, thought she was great in To Die For - which I did see.

Was this the film that stunk up the place at test screenings, was pulled and had a load reshot?

Two chances to make a decent film and neither were successful.

Who directed this Uwe Boll? :D

I'm definitely going to avoid this one....

They showed the first 10 minutes of this film last night on the SciFi channel.

I caught some of it and the premise is exactly the same as the other movies.. guy touches some of the asteroid (or whatever it was that crashed).. he then goes home.. whilst asleep he goes through some sort of change .. then wakes up acting creepy and wierd (podman!).

We got podkiRAB too.

Oh and shock horror.. dogs dont like the pod people!

This is one to watch on dvd I reckon.

Sorry to confuse you Uwe Boll didn't direct this I used him as a reference toward bad directors and bad film-making in general.

The actual directors name is Oliver Hirschbiegel, from what I can see on imdb this is his first english language release..... Perhaps something got lost in translation:

Ie "Please make us a terrifying/terrible movie...."

he directed downfall which was awesome! apparently there wasn't enough action in the film, his original cut was too ponderous, so they reshot lots of scenes of NK being chased etc

2 years i think. he and NK arent actually that bad its just so shoddy

there's real jumps in it too - where i assume they cut lots out and refilmed action sequences

there's a bit where NK is chased out of her house in the suburbs, turns round a corner...AND IS INSTANTLY IN THE MIDDLE OF A BIG CITY!

actually this is one film that i think can stand remaking occasionally.

its always relevant in some way.

i actually think the 70s one is the best
