Invalid ringtone on blackberry?

I have a blackberry curve and recently it's been making very strange sounds when anyone texts me. Its a low sound like the out of battery sound. Also my alarm doesn't go off. I thought it might be the ringtone that is selected but when I try to change the ringtone it says "invalid ring tone please select another" this happens with all ringtones that all came with the phone. PLEASE HELP
