I'm sure fans of the anime and the manga know the story of InuYasha. For those of you who don't:



Anyway, if you have any questions about the Anime or Manga, don't hesitate to ask it here. Also, discuss your favorite episode or character. Don't forget to put spoiler tags around the episode that you are discussing. There are some people who haven't seen the anime yet and we want them to experience it for themselves.

To start of with, who is your favorite character?

Mine would have to be Sesshomaru. I love his attitude and how the artist created this character as well as Rumiko Takahashi's idea for him. He is one of those stuck-up, selfish guys with a very harsh attitude and an "I don't care about you" feeling to him. Which is why I like him. Despite the fact that he detests humans, he does become compassionate towarRAB them when he meets Rin. Also, whenever I watch an episode where him and InuYasha always battle with one another, I always root for Sesshomaru.
 
What is the deal with Sesshomoru and Rin? There's definite compassion there from the both of them. It's almost odd given the way he acts towarRAB other humans. I never quite understood that but always found it interesting.

I remeraber when I was watching this through for the first time that my favorite character was initially Sango. I just felt for her situation and the way in which she had to deal with such adversity. It made you more sympathetic to her cause as well as made you hate Noraku even more. If there's one thing that almost every character in the series can agree on is their dislike of Noraku.

Makes you wonder though.....there had to be much worse in the past before the Shikon Jewel was created. Like, seriously evil demons. If the world had changed so much in Inuyasha's tme to where there were no longer rediculously large demons walking about like Inuyashas father....then imagine the past when there were probably even more powerful foes about.

I always wished they would go into the past just once....to see how crazy things were. But that was something the creators never did.
 
My favorite character is Koga. He has a cooler badass attitude then Sess. And I always admired wolves. The next is Rin, cause she is so cute and innocent (no pedo) and I like how she opens up to Sess. The rest I don't care for, I use to have a crush on Kikyo when I was younger. But she is annoying, and Kagome is EVEN more annoying. Inuyasha is ok, but he gets on my nerves with trying to attept to be badass. Sess, I don't care much for even though EVERYONE thinks he is so cool/hot. To me Sess is trying to hard to be hardcore, and he can't do it right like Koga. Shippo is ok when he is funny, Sango is cool, I like her fighting style. And last but not least Miroku, he is a pimp, and I wish he would get himself a woman that would love him, cause we all know Sango really doesn't want him. And definitely last and definitely least. Naraku, he is a class A douchebag and cheater. But I do think that chick who came from him (with the red eyes and rides a big feather, I forgot her name.) Is kinda cool.
 
Sesshomaru is not only my favorite character in InuYasha, but one of my favorite anime characters all together!

I think I view Sesshomaru in a bit of a different way then most people though... Urgh... It's hard to explain. I guess I see him more as someone who is unable to express his emotions rather then someone who doesn't have emotions. I may be totally wrong, but that's just the way I see it.

Sadly, I've only seen InuYasha up to around episode 120. I've been unable to find it... I'm sure if I look hard enough I will, but for now, I'm content with finishing up some of the other animes I'm watching.

I never thought about Sesshomaru in that way. You could be right about his emotions and his not being able to convey any. In fact, one of the things I always thought about him on the surface was how cold he was. He was especially cold to his brother. He seemed to have an irrational hatred of Inuyasha but it could be that he envied his brother. He might of envied the fact that Inuyasha had human emotion...something Sessh could never have.




Was her name Kagara? I can't remeraber but I totally agree. I liked her because she was always focused on gaining her freedom.
 
Ya I think it was Kagara, she is one of my favorites to. Shes like the only one that came from Naraku who had a mind of her own. Also I seen some manga pictures of Sess's mom and shes hot. Naraku on the other hand is one of the few anime characters that have actually made me angry watching them.
 
I sort of think that Sesshomaru's hatred for his brother more than likely has to do with the fact that InuYasha had fallen in love with a human and caused her to put a spell on him where he was asleep for 50 years. During that time, Sesshomaru had to fight this panther tribe.

Jaken had searched for InuYasha to get him to aid in the battle between the dog demons and the panther tribe, but once Jaken had come back to tell Sesshomaru about what had happened to InuYasha, and it had struck a cord with Sesshomaru, causing him to become angry.

Not only was it because of the Panther demon tribe, it could've also had to do with the fact that InuYasha had been given the Tetsusaiga, a sword that Sesshomaru wanted very badly, but couldn't obtain because of his hatred for humans. He didn't have the ability to care for humans as much as InuYasha had, which is why he was always rejected by the Tetsusaiga. Not to mention, he also blames Inuyasha for their father's death.

@Bry: The only one who fails at being a hardcore badass is Koga. He is in love with Kagome after all, which is something that Sesshomaru hasn't been able to obtain himself. I also think it has to do with how they were brought up. Sesshomaru was brought up in a rich environment where he was always expected to act like the Lord that he is rather than a "mutt" like Inuyasha or someone without manners like Koga. Also, is Koga immune to any and all poisons? I think not. Lol.
 
Yeah Kagura, between her and Kikyo, and a less important girl in the anime, I had a crush on. My foster brother loved Rin and Maya (or w/e that ghost girl from episode 12).
 
In all honesty, I've grown to dislike Inuyasha (AKA DBZ for girls) in the recent years. But back in the day, it was pretty much the only anime available to me other than what was on Toonami at the time, (We're a poor family) and I have nowhere better to post at the moment...

In any case, my favorite character had to be between Totosai and Miroku. Definatly leaning toward Totosai now that I think of it. Wether it was Miroku putting his hand on some girl's behind or Totosai opening his mouth to make a stupid comment that got him hit, both of them always cracked me up.
 
Sesshomaru is the best.. His sworRABmanship and entire fighting style is unbelievable. If he had inuyasha's sword he would unstoppable. Has anyone seen the last episode? Or is there more after that? I don't wanna get into too much detail and blow it for people that hasn't seen it yet.
 
No, there wasn't anymore episodes after episode 167. They just continued the Manga where the Anime left off. Although they completed the Manga in June of 2008, I doubt they'll continue the anime. I really wish that they would, though, but that is just wishful thinking in my opinion.

If you've seen the comments for the show on IMDB, you can see that everyone else is all hyped up about the series and hoping that it continues as well, although, I doubt it will.

I just have to know!!! I was so lost about Kagura wanting to see Sesshomaru one last time.. what was that about?
 
Err...she's in love with him, what else is there to wonder about? Also, what is the deal about the first sentence? "If anyone hasn't seen the last season, you shouldn't read this?" There is nothing here that spoils anything. If you want to talk about the last and final season, use spoiler tags. Only people who have watched it, will read what is in the spoiler tags. That is why they are there, KG83.
 
Don't worry about that, we all were new at one time. But I wish they would put the new manga volumes in Tulsa. Cause I want to know what happened after epi. 167 ^^.
