I'm working on a concept album that follows the lives of a couple who fall in love and then fall out of it. Cliche theme, but I think it can come out impressive in spite of that.
This song is the first time they meet. It will have one more stanza once I figure out how to segue into the next tracks storyline.
"Where are you walking to?"
You asked me in the rain
I did not answer you
but you walked with me just the same
to my apartment where you followed me inside
and we sat silently just drinking down the wine
Is this desperation
I see painted on your smile?
I carefully hold you
as if not to wake a child
I won't be surprised if I'm alone when I awake
Because time is a janitor that cleans up these mistakes
So when morning comes we'll move on with our lives
Forgetting all the love that we shared here tonight
How long does it take to shake these feelings?
And how long will you take?
