Hello,
I am barry, I live in Maine and I have been riding for 26 years.

My Ducati obsession started when I rode my brand new Monster 900 dark to Laguna Seca for AMA Superbike a few years back. Ducati island blew my mind!

Dirtbikes have been my thing for the past couple years though, I love the KTM thumpers!

I went to my local Duck dealer(Moto Milano) to pick up a $28 dollar part I ordered for the KTM, started talking to the owner about the next superbike... the next thing I knew, I gave them a deposit and was fist in line for a red 1098 base!

Can't wait!

Scottie in sedona AZ, sun and twisties (and slow plentiful tourists)
Saw one pic of the 1098 and had to have it, same as I felt when i saw the 916. Course, then I could barely afford the xl600r that i had.
Now... expecting 1098 sometime in near future, like most of you not exactly sure the date. ordered mine 12/28

Have owned or still own, in order of injuries inflicted
KTM 300 EXC
Ninja 750
KLR 650
Honda 600 XLR (wish I still had it)
03 SV 1000 naked

Anyway, I'll be riding naked til the duc shows up.

Hey just realized I didn't post on the Intro!
Paul here in San Diego. Dedicated twin rider -- last was an 03 RC51.
Deposit down on a regular 1098.

I found this site on my local forum and decided to sign up! I've decided I'm going to pick up the 1098 at the end of this year...just because I want to finish out the year with my K4 GSXR 750. I also want to wait and see how the first year does with these beasts. Safe riding to all!

Hi Ya!

Current 600RR owner, love the bike and hail from 600RR.net. I have decided to take the plunge and buy a Ducati as my next bike, a 1098. Currently have a down payment on one and am waiting for it to arrive... =[

Waiting Sucks!

Jason

PS. I have been posting around the Ducati forums here and there of late since I decide on getting a 1098 so don't be alarmed if you see the same post or question from me on another forum. Testing the waters here, looking for a new home.

hi all,

Elton, from philly, but i keep my bikes in NJ. fell in love w/ motorcycles the first time i rode a minibike when i was 9. my dad bought me a Yamaha MiniEnduro shortly thereafter, and i've been riding for the past 37 years. moved up from the MiniEnduro to a 125 enduro, then a Bultaco ISDT Matador 250, (i wish i still had that one!).

Bought my first street bike in college, (a Yamaha 850 Special), then traded that for an '82 Kawasaki 1100 Spectre, (which i still have). about 3 years ago my ex-buddy let me ride his 907ie. it was love at first ride. i ended up buying it from him and then loved the way it look in my garage so much i bought two more. That's me in my avatar w/ my 3 907ies alongside my friend's 907ie. I've always wanted a yellow 998, (monoposto, w/ no white on the cowling), and have a spot in my garage for it when i find the right one.

I fell in love w/ the 1098 as soon as i saw ducati had gone back to the Single Side Swingarm. I put an order on a Base 1098 back in October. Number 2 at Martin Eurosports, right behind my longtime riding friend. Right after his base came in, Martin EuroSport offered me the opportunity to upgrade to an "S" model that they had just taken delivery of. I took advantage of that opportunity. So now my 1098S is here, my full termi exhaust is here, my clutch cover is on its way from Ohio, and Martin Eurosports is telling me they'll have my 1098S together by Friday. I can't wait.

Peace, Elton
