Me . Got a white 848 - just got unloaded so it's not my hands yet though!! I'm glad to get to join you all!!

Since I haven't even picked it up yet - any tips I should be aware of - at the shop, my first ride, or the new few months? I'm a bit new to bikes, been riding for a couple months now. Very new to the Ducati line.

Welcome, You'd probably have had more fanfare if you posted in the 848 section, or had a bra and panties avatar. Find out how much your dealer will charge you for your first service and what is included in it. Take some time to search the threads on here, there's been huge discrepancies between different dealers. I'm not sure what else you rode before but this thing may be a whole new animal to you, be aware of how fast you're actually going and how quickly you get there, it's deceptive and you can find yourself in real trouble really fast. Enjoy.

I'd say take it slow. Learn the bike, how it handles slow, fast, in traffic, on an open highway....take your time learning, it's a lot of fun. This way, you can learn the bike....be safe, and still have tons of fun. Plenty of time for corner carving, hi speed runs, and general "hooligan-ism" in the future.

Have fun, and welcome to the club!!!
