internet sharing 6700 on cricket aku 3.5

Here's how I use Internet Sharing:

1. Install ActiveSync 4.5 on the PC that you want to share your connection with.

2. Start Internet Sharing on your phone. It should automaticaly connect to your dialup and display a message along the lines of, "check USB connection."

3. Connect your phone to your PC. Windows should create a new network connection and ActiveSync should not connect. If ActiveSync does connect, right click its tray icon, click Connection Settings, and disable USB connections.

4. Change your web browser of choice so that it connects through proxy wap.mycricket.com:8080.

This is VERY handy.

thanks, i thought i read that vista would work by itself without as 4.5

i suspect that i am not setting my explorer settings correctly?

I've never touched Vista, so I probably won't be of any help here, but...

Is a network connection established when you connect the device with Internet Sharing started?

found that I didn't have the proxy settings set. haven't tried it on vista yet.

thanks for the help.

my download rate was horrible though. once it buffered down it was about 2.7 kb.... at least I can connect when I need to. my goal is for my credit card terminal to work via 6700. will save me a lot on my processing rates.

YAY! The proxy name fixed my internet sharing! THANKS!!!!!

Opera (Desktop) has a quick switch to turn proxy on and off...F12, clock the box.

SWEET!
