Is there any Internet radio that is smart enough to use wifi vrs wap ? I downloaded shoutcast it doesnt seem to want to contect to wifi..

I had no problem using it via wifi on my E61 or my N80IE. Maybe uninstall and reinstall. i've had it with no issues so you've got the right app. Just have to get it working right.

That's ok..Well I guess I spook to soon. This program is turning out to be very stupid. 90% of the stations listed don't work or work when they feel like it. Euro dance did work now I'm getting a error saying it could not receive a shout cast response..

I found a program called Virtual Radio..Very stable. Once connected it stays connected. I'm trying it out on the trial and it holds up I'm gonna just buy it. Pretty cheap when u compare it to like agile messenger or that stupid hot spot finder when u can use the nokia version for free!.

You can add your own playlists. Go to www.shoutcast.com and select the station you want to listen to and download the playlist. Then upload it to Shoutcast directory in your mmc / phone mem (depending on where u've installed the app).

Many of the channels in the default playlist don't work.

ollywompus had a good post about how to edit and create playlists. Do a search you'll find it.

I refuse to use shoutcast. The same stations that would not conect on shoutcast worked without a hitch on Virtual Radio. It seems that the program is able to see playlist for shoutcast and use them..However I personally think the shoutcast is junk. That's just me though.

Well, given that Shoutcast is free and Virtual Radio costs money, I'm going to stick with Shoutcast. I've not had any problems connecting with Shoutcast.

True but as the saying goes.. you get what you pay for. Mabye its the version I have that is buggy I don't know. I just rather use a program that is stable even if i have to pay only $13 for it.

THIS IS HOW YOU CORRECTLY USE SHOUTCAST ON THE S60v3 :

You gotta manually modify your playlist so that the server URLs are IP addresses and not some name

ie - http://www.whatever.com/8800 should be replaced by http://255.255.255.0/8800

otherwise, the software won't be able to use the address (it cant use DNS, sucks eh?)

The thing is the program did connect to the channels that came with it then doesn't. I really don't feel like playing around with each Chanel I have just to get it to work. Beside how am I supposed to get the ip of these servers ? Seems like a allot work just to get it to play properly. I checked the program and it already has the ip for the channels.

Wirelessly posted (Nokia 5100: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Symbian OS; Nokia E61/0618.06.05; 9712) Opera 8.65 [en])

your forgeting the visual radio conects to eurodance where as shoutcast will not..I think it doesnt like green and tooth in the same sentence though..usaully when it reads those words it acts funny on me.lol

lol...I dont blame it

.....btw....greentooth was a character from a Frank Miller short story (artist/writer) that I loved! sort of like the guy from "that yellow *******" if you've ever read SinCity.
