Hey everyone I've been having some internet problems lately and was wondering if anyone could help me out. So a few weeks ago my internet started becoming really slow, youtube videos wouldn't load and if it did it'd be very choppy and I'm a big online gamer (mainly World of Warcraft) and I couldn't even connect to that other online games I could connect to but it was very slow. A day or two later WoW began to work but I would occasionally disconnect and showed high ping. I figured it was a problem with my network card and after checking on Cnet's bandwith speed test discovering mine was only at 25kb or so I though that was about right. I bought a new wireless network card and installed it, thinks got better but I was up to around 600kps which is still very slow and my online games were probably just as slow they also occasionally froze for about 5 seconds and had random disconnects. My signal strength still showed excellent and I thought this was really weird. I then tried to hook up the wireless router and modem to my computer and put a wireless usb connector in my other one. My computer ran great and was back to normal but, my family's computer stayed connected to a very laggy internet for about 5 minutes then got disconnected. I thought possibly it was something with my wireless router so I bought a new router. I plugged that in to my family's computer. That computer ran fine and once again my speed said it increased from 600kps to 1200kps. I decided I should first test out some games to make sure its back to normal but what do you know i still freeze up and the ping is high as well as occasional disconnects. No one else in my family is really a gamer and the only other computer we have is my Dad's laptop but he uses that for work, also when he tested his speed before I replaced my network card it was probably at 2000 kps or so from just as far away as my computer. I have no idea what could be wrong. This problem just randomly started happening and it's never happened to me before. I've moved around the wireless router to see if it was possibly somewhere where the signal connection was messed up but it was still the same. The only possible thing I can think of is that maybe my pin connector for my wireless card is broken. My computer is an Xps 420 and its only around 3 years old. If anyone could help me out at all it'd be much appreciated. I'm really stuck on this and want to get it fixed.
My computer specs:
Intel Quad core 2.66ghz processor
3 gigs of RAM
280 gig harddrive
375 W PSU
I don't know if any of that will really help but might as well put it up.
