Internet issue...should I wipe clean?

Within the past two days I've been having some issues that TMO doesn't seem to know much about. First was one of my MyFaves disappeared...they are trying to work on that. Second, it may seem a little trivial to most, but I can not sign into Myspace! Yes, sadly, I am a Myspace junkie and I use to be able to sign in without a hitch, but now when I try to sign in it just goes back to the sign in page. I've tried clearing all cookies and that didn't do anything.

Question 1: Does anyone have any ideas that might help me?

Since I know something is wrong with my Pearl, I was considering doing the wipe clean and restore, but I am super nervous about wiping out stuff that I really need and might possibly not getting it back. I have already backed up what I have on my phone, but

Question 2: can I know for sure that everything is on that backup?

Chances are it's a problem on the MySpace side of things. First off, what's yo, number, what's yo name, what's yo, sign?

In short:
Do you have TMO's latest BlackBerry firmware?
Are you using BB Browser or Opera (if Opera, which version?)
When's the last time you cleared your browser cache?
Have you tried a battery pull?

I hope this helps. I too am a MySpace junkie. Damn that social networking. Damn it to Hell!

i too had your log in issue to myspace a couple days ago while using opera beta 4. i went to applications and edit the permissions for opera mini to allow connections and allow interactions, and then it worked.

I was having problems just a few minutes ago reading messages on MySpace using Opera Mini Beta 4. I finally decided to use the white links on the top center of the page. It worked with no issues.
 
As far as I know I have the latest BB firmware.
I'm using BB Browser.
I cleared my caches just yesterday.
And I've pulled the battery about ten times.

I think I've tried everythig except a wipe and I really don't want to do that.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT wipe your BB. Change your BB browser setting to emulate mode: Microsoft IE.

MySpace is laggy at times. Try, try again.

You can always download Opera Mini 4 Beta. Can someone post a link to it?

MySpace seems to like Opera better than BB Browser.

I changed to the Microsoft IE and nothing new happened. I tried all of them and still nothing. I can't even post a comment on here from my phone. I could sign in, but when I go to post it goes back to sign in. I have to get on the computer to do anything. It's really getting annoying. At least my email still works.

If I download the Opera, is that going to mess with the fact that I pay for unlimited RIM internet with TMO?

I think this all started when I wrote a long email that suddenly jammed up my BB. I did a battery pull to get things working again and since then MyFaves and internet is messed up.

brigid - opera is just another choice for browser (like IE and firefox on your PC)

have you checked your permissions like mudshovel suggested?
or maybe your tcp settings?

i don't use opera or Myspace from my bb, so i can't be much help other than to help you troubleshoot some more ...
 
I don't have Opera so I didn't think it applied to me. What is TCP settings and where do I find them? Guess I need help finding the permissions too, because I just looked and couldn't find anything. I think I've looked at everything I could.

Geez...I'm so good at figuring out how to fix a computer, but I'm basically an idiot when it comes to this phone!
 
in regards to your myfaves call t-mobile and tell them to either refresh your contacts orcl ear out your myfaves and re put them in. That will solve that issue. If they won't do which they should, but if they don't just backup your handheld and re-load the software on there, problem will be solved. in regards to your internet, if changing the tcp settings do not work, thats okay, there is an issue with accessing mysace sometimes because the blackberry device do not have the correct scripting from myspace to view that site. I know the sidekick has those scripting, and the helio phones, and there maybe a few, but if adding the tcp settings do not work, i would say change the host routing table, and that too is in your settings. go to settings >advanced setting> host routing table . you can select any of the lsitings on that screen. just select one and press your menu button and then register. hope that helps
 
Well, I thought for the most part the internet seemed to be working correctly again, except I still can't post on here from my BB. Once again, I can sign in, I can type in a quick reply, but once I hit post it goes back to the sign in page. Goes back to sign in page if I hit Post Reply too. Does anyone know if there are any other settings I might need to try?

I think I will take Jonny's advice and call TMO back and ask them to take out and put back in MyFaves. Seems to make the most sense to me, without having to do a wipe (which I obviously really don't want to do).
