Internet Explorer keeps opening with these weird websites without me even

opening the internet. Why? I use Google Chrome, and while I'm on there Internet Explorer keeps popping open with these odd weird websites. Sometimes blank pages too. There is even one site that comes up that makes it look like a "my computer" screen and says "you're computer is extremely infected by viruses- click here to fix." Then sometimes it will open to a parade. com article. what is causing this? How do I fix it?
 
VIRUS
Make sure you do not have any extremely important information
EG credit cards and password
Run spybot Search and destroy as well as AVG
(If you have some money dish out for norton!!!
Pop ups = pop! Computer gone

Yes i am exaggerating a little
