pursuing 2nd Bachelor's degree? Ok so I already hold my Bachelor's in English. I want to attend SGU on the Rosebud Reservation and major in their Lakota Studies Program. My interest is in language and cultural preservation. Anyway, I have found as I am already a college graduate, in the instance of wanting to obtain a 2nd degree, no financial aid other than loans seem to be available. Does anyone know of any resources or options available other than student loans? I have tried to apply for a grant independently but have been told that all funds available are being used towards the bailouts and the stimulus. Also as far as I know there is no Native ancestry so that option isn't available. I am able to attend as they don't turn anyone away, and the school is trying to be helpful, and give me ideas, as to what I can do. Unfortunately the financial issue is what is keeping me from leaving Kentucky and pursuing this degree. I have nearly exhausted all my options at this point, and could really use some ideas advise or suggestions. Also does anyone know if anything might be available if going into a specialized course of study? I'll be glad of any and all help. THank you all is advance.
I have looked at other universities and have done extensive research. In terms of what I'm looking for, Sinte Gleska has a far better curriculum more variety and depth to their courses. There's nothing wrong with the other schools they just don't offer what I'm looking for. I really like SGU and am passionate about attending and learning. Thank you all again. I am sincerely glad of all help.
