Honestly I am 17 and I don't really understand "interactive media design" but I can tell you this much I intern for a big design firm and I have learned more then I probably would learn at school your best bet is too hit the books and teach yourself because then you learn what you want to learn why pay for it? Google is school these days. Plus you can cut back and just buy the programs you need and a computer specifically for designs.
