intentionally fail the class or actually try?

The class is a computer science class its a C++ class. Well I've got myself in a hole here its too late for me to drop the class and receive a 'w'. At the time it was an easier class for me but after the period for me to be able to drop it went by we picked up the pace really fast and now I'm just completely lost. I have no idea what we are doing let alone to try and do it. And to make matters worse if i drop the course now i fall below a full-time student and lose my scholarships. but if I were to fail it and pass all my other classes I would still be able to keep them. The work in the class is putting alot of stress on me because it takes me like 6-8 hours just to finish one homework assignment because I don't get any of it and it's causing me to stress with other classes. I was just wondering your opinion should I just give up on it because I plan on changing majors after this semester from computer science to computer information systems.
