Intentional Roaming?

My tmobile reception is extremely poor around my house and I have noticed that sometimes I will roam on cingular's network. But then one day I kept getting dropped calls on the tmobile network so I was messing around with my 8100 and I found that I could manually select the cingular network which is stronger. Now my question is, this counts as roaming still right? I get much better reception and no dropped calls so hopefully it only counts as roaming.

As long as you have a National Plan and not a Regional one, you are fine. T-mobile has roaming agreements with Cingular. Got to love that 850 band

Is it the case that this only works in some areas? I'm on tmo and can see Cingular here, but when I manually switch to Cingular, my screen constantly says "searching...". It never connects. ~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~
