intelligently designed? really? how can you argue against this!?

my take on a wikipedia article on this

why a creator god must nott exist or why he must not be a god
1. An omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent creator God would create organisms that have optimal design.
2. Organisms have features that are suboptimal.
3. Therefore, God either did not create these organisms or is not omnipotent, omniscient and omnibenevolent.

so either theres no god, or he did things half assed
what do you think?
 
Why complain that you can't see if you refuse to open your eyes? What is True cannot be any other than True. That is what makes it true. What ever you say about it does not change it so why say anything at all if you don't know what it is? I believe it is better to seek what is true than to talk about it from the place of unknowing even though doing it can be endlessly entertaining.
 
The better question is why did omnipotent god spend billions of years (or even 6 days) making something he knew, being omniscient, he was going to make all along?

He knew what he was going to make since the beginning of time... being omniscient... and he has all the power in the universe... so why spend that long on it? Because he's outside of time? How does that answer the question? If he's outside of time then that wouldn't affect the amount of time spent... it would go along with the fact that everything would be INSTANT... not progressive over billions of years.
 
All creatures are optimally designed for the environment in which they live and for mating within their species. The Intelligent Designer designed Evolution well.
 
God created every possible lifeform, but with Free Will, He allowed them to reproduce on their own. The organisms then live according to their envirnoment and adaptations. God is great, just keep your faith in Him and you'd see for yourself.
 
A good design always has trade-offs. When designing a car, speed, fuel economy, safety, reliability, cost, etc has to be considered.
Organisms have optimal design for what they are created for.
A good study of symbiosis should convince any reasonable person that there has to be an Intelligent Designer.
 
I think that even in it's fallen condition, the life forms that God created are amazing and they defy all human attempts to fully understand or replicate them.

Before sin entered into this world there was no death. While human beings were first created in God's "image" that image has been marred.

God didn't say that He was making a "perfect" creation, just a "very good" one. That very good creation has been corrupted but it's still very amazing when you consider all of the intricacies in life from a single cell to a humming bird to a bumblebee to a woodpecker to a bombardier beetle, to a....etc
 
Maybe he's not omnipotent or omniscient.

I don't think omnibenevolent is a word.

I'm not supporting the idea of intelligent design or even God. I've just read some stuff to suggest that the notion that God is omnipotent comes from humans—the Greeks, I believe. I can't remember what book it was, but it was an interesting idea.

2. God allows organisms to become suboptimal to experience, learn and grow.
3. Organisms have features that are suboptimal.
4. God provides a way for said organisms to regain optimal design that would not be possible without experience, learning and growing.
5. Therefore, God created these organisms and is omnipotent, omniscient and omnibenevolent.
