Insurance

Anybody besides me think 2500 bucks a year for insurance for a 49 year old guy on a 749 in massachusetts is too much? Does my 40 years of experience riding mean nothing? Jesus, how much would it be if I were on a triple nine?

If you were 15 years younger and just started out on a 999S, combined with some nice recent dings on your insurance, and wanted the fullest coverage...you might be around $3,151. Not that I can relate to your pain or anything.....

Scot,

Try Foremost. I'm 47 and pay $660/yr for full coverage on my 1098s. I'm in NJ and have no points. Obviously, rates vary depending on your location, credit rating, and driving record, (just to name a few factors), but Foremost has a promotion going on right now where they're offering special rates to Ducatisti.

I have never had a claim but do have some points. The full coverage was to steep for me so I went with comp/liability for $437. If I damage it I will pay the freight but thief is covered.

Mass rates are some kind of special!

I'm paying $380.00 a year with Arrowhead. Thats full coverage minus medical.

FYI to all reading this in MA, no go because they don't offer this insurance in MA. For some reason people don't like to insure us...Foremost, Progressive, Geico, who knows what other companies.

I live in an area close to Boston plus I have points and "incidents" from which I guess I can't hide. It's unbelievable how low some people's insurance is, wow.....

Hello,

I am in mid 30's and have been riding for less than a year.
I pay $980 a year for full coverage + uninsured motorist.
Check Lincoln Insurance if it is available in your area.

Have a great weekend!!

Mass has a no compete insurance law. Meaning you have the same price for insurance no matter who you go to. This is why a lot of companies won't insure you guys. They don't make any money off of you.

Also just to add. I'm 31 own my own house and pay $450 a year for full coverage on the 1098 and $420 for the 748 that is all 12 months not just 9 like some companies.

I went for a quote for shits and giggles at Progressive for a base 1098 and it was 8 grand for a year!

That was max coverage.

However, I'm 21 with 1 accident on my recored (little over a year ago).

My 996S cost me about $2400 a year.

Is Progressive just a bad place to start, or is it just because I'm so young?

Progressive rates on the Bike and the cost to replace it and they also factor in who rides them. I bet if you called about a new R1 and being 21 with that accident they would tell you no. You all need to try State Farm. They only rate on the cc size. Like I said $450 a year for full coverage. I have a company car so that is the only vehicle I have insurance for.
