Insurance question

About a week ago I bought a new cell phone (blackberry) because I absolutely needed a phone. When I bought it the woman who sold it to me understood that I was going to get an iphone and return this one to offset the cost.

Well, 4th of July happened and a dog chewed up the blackberry.

Now I don't know what I should do.

I have insurance on the phone, and I can get a replacement blackberry though that.

Would they know if I returned the replacement blackberry in the box I bought the original one in and get the iPhone on Friday??

Or should I get the replacement blackberry and just outright buy an iPhone on Friday, and sell the Blackberry on ebay or something? (Would I be able to get anywhere near the 399$ I paid for it??)

Thanks for your help!

(I'm in AZ if that has anything to do with anything).

Well you most likely will not be able to get the $399 on eBay. Unless you return the blackberry in perfect condition, you will not get your money back, and you will have to pay full price for the iPhone which will be either $599 or $699 depending on the model you are looking to buy.

Will the AT&T store be able to know that I'm returning a different phone? Do they scan the barcode on the box or on the phone?

Should I try to switch the stickers?

The UPC should be the same for all Blackberry models like yours. The IMEI on the phone, the box and the invoice should be identical, otherwise the return is fraudulent. You should have bought a throwaway phone to tide you over until you bought the iPhone.
