Okay, so when I started with Cricket, I decited to pay $5 a month extra so if something happend to my phone I would get a replacement for free. Well my phone's keys are falling out, its gotten wet etc. so I went to a cricket store and they gave me the nuraber to file my claim. I called and got all the information set up and everything worked out great. EXCEPT I was told by the insurance people that I have to pay an $85 fee!!!???

I went to the local cricket store and they told me as well, I must pay an $85 doller fee! I was never told about that. I was only told I could replace my phone for free if I payed the extra 5 a month.

Has anyone had this problem? Please reply! thank you.

Cricket's Insurance deductible is INSANE compared to other carriers.... and you will have to pay $15 for the ESN swap. But... all carriers do have deductibles. I am with Sprint and they charge $50.

if you are doing insurance or warranty swap should be no esn change fee. deductables or co-pays are standard with most types of insurance, and all mobile phone carriers, although the deductable varies. For cricket the deductible will be $50 for low end phones and $85 for high end phones. The good news is Cricket will replace the phone in-store and you don't have to wait for shipping.

hmm I see. It just ticks me off that Cricket didn't tell me about that cause after months with paying 5 dollars extra plus the 85 dollars could be the same price as buying a new one. But thanks alot for the help!

Exactly, CricKet makes you 'pay' for the new one unless your old one happens to fail in a short time period. Unfortunatley this sounRAB like a standard buisness tatic. Our little CricKet is not perfect.

every insurance for physical property has a deductible of some sort. The insurance pamphlets are plainly available in Cricket stores. Ignorance is no excuse.
