Insurance Costs

Curious what everyone is paying for insurance these days. I deal with State Farm and feel they have the best rates in my area. I am located near Kitchener Ontario and am paying 1032 / year for full coverage on my 848. The guy who bought my R1 from me is paying over 3K out in Winnepeg for it.

A lot of it depends on your age. If you're under 25 you're going to take it in the a** pretty badly premium wise.

Having said that here in Brooklyn I pay $840 / year full coverage

I have State Farm also. I'm 42 and with a multi policy discount (4 bikes, a car and a truck) and pay $285.00 a year for full coverage on a 2009 1198 with a $1000 deductable. No tickets for years helps also. I am pretty sure State Farm bases their price structure from engine size. What kind of bike makes no difference to them.

I was in CA and paid around 800 for my 1098 ( I got a car as well on the insurance).

Now I am in MI and only the bike with Progressive will cost 2k, with State Farm 2.5k, GEICO doesn't insure in MI (I got GEICO back in CA).

horrible ...

State Farm quoted me about $270 for the 848 with $500 deductible. This was with home owners and two cars. Farmers had the better price on the home owners State Farm was about the same on the vehicles. Both go by engine size, and Farmers will give a discount on touring models. May have some to do with where I live but charging $2k??? I got the quotes from the full probe by the agent about 10 days ago. I compared 5 companies very carefully. State Farm and Farmers are very close on costs.

I have geico in CA. I'm 27, have 2 points on my record from a DUI 5 years ago.
I paid close to $1400/yr for my 848 with max coverage and a $1000/deductible. Just found out the lowered my rate because I turn 28 this year, I now pay a little under $1000/yr.
FYI, state farm won't touch you if you have a DUI, they require it to fall off your record which takes 10 years. Geico is cool because in CA they don't recognize a DUI after 5 years.
