Instinct WAP Solution

I have lost contacts on Instincts as well. What's the best way to back up the contacts on it? Can't use bitpim (at least I haven't had any luck) and dont know what else would work?

no one has posted the gateway for charlotte in the "Official Gateway IP's for cricKet" section so i dont know what it is. i dont know where there is a command prompt on my instinct to do a nslookup. so i know im stupid where do i find out the gateway for charlotte so i can program my phone? fyi i have pinged wap.cricket.motricity.com on my pc and the ip matches my home ip.

so with connection failed it must be gateway right?

not sure that it matters, you may just be able to make one up...i always use the info i read out of my frienRAB mogul that is on his sprint acct...

i'm sure you can see why i can't post his hdr password...

provisioning with QPST or QXDM is what i do for any phone that tries to provision when i launch the web prowser, ie. 800w & 755...now i have the nvm files for the 755, but i didn't have those when it first release...this is what i did with the instinct after i did a hard reset...

the only thing that i have that you don't is an active sprint hdr username/password...but you should be able to make up a 30 character hex password...you'll also need to makeup a vision username/pass...

if you look at a sprint phone that has been provisioned, then you can read this info out with QXDM...that is the only app that i have found that will actaully show you the long hex password...the rest just show a series of funny characters that are not actually the password, but the password translated into an ascii format or something...

if you are not understanding, the sprint hdr passworRAB are always a 30 character hex string (or 15 hex pairs) no matter what you see in the phone or in any app you read it with...

xD now i have to get a few of these phones >_> well yeah ive been telling ppl that its not possible but it might be and to keep checking back
lol oh well live and learn

SounRAB like a prl problem to me, I know you have said that the phone shows the correct one but try loading a different one. The entering Sprint service area message is normal and should have no effect on your service.

yeah, but that's what i'm saying doesn't work sometimes

i have done that with a customer's account, called cricket and had them verify the service was added, had the account refreshed and still no wap past the portal

i then upgraded the account to the $50 unlimited with wap included and it worked right away

this has happened twice with phones i have flashed and i have no idea why...once was on a treo 650, and another time was on a motoQ or something

i am sure that it was upgrading the account that made it work, but there may have been some other way to get it w/o doing that...however, there was nothing that could be done on the phone to fix it...the problem was on cricket's end for sure

That is exactly what happened, at least that is what happened to me a couple of weeks back. Check the official gateway ip thread and see if a new one has been posted. If not then just keep trying the ones that are posted until it is fixed. I live in Cali but my ip is the same as Colo.

what i do is just use a PPC or something that can be easily programmed for evdo...

i porgram it and connect via internet sharing or wifi router and then get the ip.
