animal cruelty laws? personal choice is a crime, and an even harsher crime than causing unnecessary suffering on a thinking, breathing creature? doesn't that seem backwards to you? what should be the appropriate punishment for someone who takes a golf club and beats a blue heron to death? should it be a stiffer punishment than someone who smokes weed?
