Frankly it was the fringe element that ran the true true Republicans away from the polls. It was the loss of many Republicans in Congress, that chose not to run keeping their promise not to be career politicians. Read Common Sense by Thomas Payne. He believed that the best Representatives of the People were not career politicians. But the ones that spent little time in Washington and went back and lived under the same laws that they enact.

They fail to realize that they are completely irrelevant at the current moment. They spend their entire day questioning the President, and can't come up with any alternatives.

...GOP...? begun to address the issues and problems which sent them into 'minority' status in the first place?

All I hear is how Obama is boldly taking steps and taking action on many fronts badly neglected by Bush and his crony empire--and this all somehow *equates* to being a complete and total 'surrender monkey'...

But I don't see questions from the right on things like:

"How do I fix what failed the GOP in the last 2 elections?"

or

"What is it going to take to regain control of the White House and Congress?"

or

"Who is strong enough to lead us back to power in 2012?"

I'm just wondering, because it seems as us liberals are the only ones whom have either the answers to these questions or solutions upon which to rectify the Republican Party's failings as a party entity and a world leader.

No one else from the Republican side seems to actually *care* what happens to them--just so that they can get in their 5-minute sound bytes of yanking and spanking on Obama, the Democrats, liberals, Pelosi, and so on and so forth.

Thoughts?

They have been listening to the GOP tell them for 30 years that sending jobs overseas creates prosperity for Americans.

They have been listening for 30 years that free trade was great for our economy.

They have been listening for 30 years that Reaganomics was good for our economy.

Its called irrationalism.

Have you read James Carville's new book? The GOP is in total disarray right now.

Now, I don't think the Democrats will be in power for the next 40 years (they're bound to screw up between now and then), but Carville's basic thesis that the basic demographics of the GOP are crumbling rings true.
