Instead of 1x it says 3g

So I decided to *228 my Cricket phone in the Denver Market, and it went from 1x to 3g... What does that mean?

yes, it means you gotten yourself an evdo prl and your phone has aquired an evdo signal.

if it says 3g then you have acuired signal. maybe the switch guys are testing something and you are in a cell that is active?

i dont think its has to be broadcasted for u to pick up signal. they are gettin evdo in Boise too, not going to up and running till end of month. but i got evdo signal. but not going to be fully up n runnin till end of month =/ have u tried gettin on iternet? do u lose the evdo signal when u get on? does it go from 3g bak to 1x again once ur on internet?

check the web browser i've gotten that to with some people... signal for ev-do maybe except its not in my area where you located?

boise. lol said in post boise, id. its in process of gettin up here. so i get signal. till i try internet. then poof bak to 1x. no problems with wap or mms tho.

3G or EV icons means you have evdo signal... PERIOD!

as we all know cricket uses alltel and verizon signals.


so if theres verizon signal there, most likely you got your evdo(not true all the time)

cricket does not use verizon or alltel for evdo. they are used for roaming, but there is no data roaming right now so there would be no evdo entries in the prl for verizon, alltel, uscc, or sprint... additionally in market sid's are not generally loaded into roaming prl's
