I am installing Mac OS X 10.5 on a PC. I have downloaded the patched installer files in .torrent form. By using bittorent, i decoded these files into .RAR files. (are the installer files supposed to be .RAR files?) From the guide i read about doing this, these files are to be burned to a DVD-RW and the computer will be booted from. I have the empty partion labeled as active, and I just need to burn the files to a DVD- RW, everything on the computer that OS X will be installed on is ready. These files are stored on my other computer, and a thumb drive. I tried to burn these files to CD-r with 4.0 GB of space, but no computers will even notice the blank CD-r. I am trying to boot these files somehow. Can I boot them from A thumb drive? Can i fix the CD-r to be able to be used to burn and boot? Do i have to get a DVD-RW for any of this to work? Are the .RAR files right??
