you will need a ground for it to work and you also need a "remote" wire which is a small power wire to tell the amp to come on (that the radio is on)
for testing you can bridge a small wire from the positive power connection to remote connection and see if it works also make sure that you have a good ground (is it grounded to the cars chassis, did you scrape off the paint)
did you blow your in-line fuse, (is the power wire even hot at the amp)
