Hey guys, I've been using computers for a very long time now, and consider myself quite an expert, however there is one situation that I have not been confronted with as of yet.
The motherboard I am using does not support booting off an External Hard-Disk or a USB drive, and I wish not to install microsoft windows XP to install windows 7, because my DVD burner just died the other week, causing windows XP to crash (Work that F**ker out, beats me).
As I cannot burn a DVD and use the spare DVD drive I have (It doesn't burn disks) is there a DOS like program that I can run off a disk, that will install an operating system to my Hard Disk, through my USB drive?
My other options are:
1) Install windows XP and run the installation files from within windows XP itself.
2) Install Linux, install WINE emulator and run the install files
3) Buy a DVD burner. (I have a seperate, unbelievably slower computer just managing to run XP that I can use to burn it)
Any advice would be great. Thank you.
