K KSbooks New member Sep 18, 2010 #2 uh, if you want to save gas, turn off the car and walk or ride a bike. it's not as much the rpm at which you shift but how much fuel you put into the car during your drive. if i shifted my red car at 2500rpm consistently, the mileage would probably be worse than how i normally shift around 4000rpm. ~ dan ~
