Installed a radio/cd player in my 1999 Toyota Camry, why is it that sound only

comes out of the front speakers? The radio cd player has speaker wires only for L(+), L(-0), and R(+),
R(-). I tied the front and back speakers togeter with the corresponding L and R wires in the new radio.
