Installed 1,000watt system with no capacitor, will my battery last?

I installed a 1,000 watt amp directly to the battery to power 2 12" 500rms subs. I did not put in a capacitor. I do not plan to pound the subs very often. I use them fairly low. Will the amp hurt my battery and electrical system performance?
