Try to leave the island when you're not supposed to. I was trying to go to the far northwest of the map bc i think that's where the helicopter is, and i smashed into barricades which had cops behind them, buy my guy FLEW OUT the window and as i crossed over, I immediately had 6 stars

i tried flying the helicopter into empirestatebuilding. The helicopter got fucked up

I was running away from the cops and wanted to be a little slick so i tried swimming to Algonquin. Bad idea.

Just grab a speed boat, get 6 stars, boat around, leave, evade, profit.

take a motorcycle...take it up to the train/elevated subway..and ride in the tracks to Algonquin...get out at one of the stations that doesn't have cops all around...and QUICKLY steal any vehicle you can...great great great fun driving around the city and ducking/fighting cops...
Right after I found the helicopter tour place, I figured I get the accomplishment I read about for flying under all the bridges. I did all on the first two islands, but the 4 on the 3rd island landed me 6 stars. I got the accomplishment, and I also got the 1 man army accomplishment while trying to get rid of it.
