This French horror film is at the top of the heap right now for me for French horror, overtaking "Haute Tension". Extremely brutal, exceptional gore, and bloody as hell, and I might add, realistic bloody as hell.

The filmmakers didn't hold back an inch on this baby, as it tells a story about a pregnant woman involved in a car wreck that killed her husband. She recovers and is one day away from having the baby delivered.
She decides to spend the evening alone in her home, a nice quiet evening, but instead a homicidal psycho woman breaks in and terrorizes her, wanting to take away her baby.

She does have a motive as we learn in the end, a motive that I didn't even think about. But the movie is not just the two women, one attacking and one trying to survive, because the psycho keeps getting interrupted by people stopping by, who she disposes of instantly.

It didn't bother me with the slow buildup, in fact I liked having the whole scenario set up, because the last half of the film is relentless and extremely bloody and graphic. This is my kind of movie, and yes, I do think it is a better movie than "Haute Tension" which I would have never believed was possible.

"Inside" is probably my favorite blood and gore movie of recent times, both in quality of production, and no fear in displaying the most violent and graphic scenes without pulling a punch. Every gorehound, or fan of graphic violent cinema, will want a copy of this movie, it is one of the best of all time. I still have "Frontier(s)" to watch next month, but I cannot imagine it holding a candle to "Inside". What a hell of a movie... and what an ending...

I saw it earlier in the year and was astounded by how great it was, definately my favourite horror movie of the last 10 years.
Totally agree about the ending, one of the most disturbing and disgusting scenes I have ever seen but it's a shame so many movie viewers will disregard this soon to be cult classic because of it being foreign language because it really does sit alongside the likes of Hellraiser,Halloween etc in terms of being a horror classic.

Another French horror movie has debuted this year called Martyrs and early reviews say it actually tops Inside, amazingly enough.

I mentioned Martyrs in another topic, suppose to be intense, got the tough rating of 18+ I believe in France too, and Irreversible got a rating lower! There are some teaser trailers out for it if you look around.

As for Inside, really enjoyed it all apart from the
'zombie'
scene. Apart from that stupid part, It's a fantastic horror film.

It's graphic yes, but there are other films from the past with more in and far worse.

As for Haute Tension, still like that better than Inside.

Yeah, that part really threw me. It's so completely at odRAB with everything else in the film. Bizarre. Good film though.

I've just been reading about Martyrs and it sounRAB pretty good too.
