Hi all,

Well, I am going to inpatient detox this Monday for sure. To get off the opiates I am on they said I will be on Suboxone or Subutex for the withdrawals. Do these medicines along with immodium, etc. help with ALL of the withdrawals or do they just help a little bit and I will still be miserable?? I'm really curious b/c I have been off of my meRAB a few times for a couple of days and the withdrawals were horrible.
So, basically will these medicines knock out all of the withdrawals and I'll feel pretty good, or will I be miserable..and what about when I am off of the Suboxone..will I get withdrawals then? :dizzy:

I'm very scared and just want to be somewhat prepared.

Thanks,
Sherrie

My daughter just past weekend went through detox for opiates. She went in first on Wednesday and was perscribed 7 80 mg oxy. One for Wednesday (because we did not see the doctor until 3:30), two for each Thursday and Friday and one for Saturday to be taken no later than 5:00. She had nothing Sunday and went in for 8 mg Suboxin on Monday 8:00 am. Her detox symptoms were not horrific as I anticipated for someone who used heroin for 6 years.
She is now attending an in patient rehab and will be there for the next 28 days. Her doctor will reduce the mg on the suboxin each week. From 8 to 6 to 4 to 2 to 1. I feel this is at least 1 week to long for this medication. It was designed for short term use. Used correctly does not lead to withdrawal symptoms.

Good luck to you and God Bless
