innocent people in jail?

OK so here's the story two familys in my street having fights over land, Family A pulls family B out their own car but Family B some-how get away, Family A calls police and say that B pulled them out car mean while Family B are driving to police station to tell what really happens. police man says that A its telling the true even tho Family B had cctv of it happening WHEN family B Hear that they are in the wrong according to police Family B members says "so the innocent party is getting charged" policeman Says "thats the way it is so many innocent people in jail (True story) So what does the world think?
 
Everybody in prison is innocent if you ask them. Getting charged isn't the same as going to prison. Before you go to prison you get a trial where the state has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you are guilty.
 
I think I was confused by the end of the 1st sentence, considering by the 2nd sentence it was family A in the car instead of family B, like you said in the 1st sentence.

It kinda goes downhill from there.
