Inner Fairing Edge Trim

Has anyone used anything different to trim the inner fairing instead of the pieces from Harley or the auto store? I used to rebuild machines in a factory, and we used some sort of vinyl pinch strip around the expandable metal cage edges. I had thought about using something like that, what else has anyone used? I really need some ideas.

Isn't that a piece of junk Harley installs on the inner fairing? It's not even a decent dust seal much less water.

I watched a guy here locally open up his fairing for the first time since buying the bike 12 years prior. There were weeds growing inside. I don't know where all he had riden but there was a lot of dirt and dust covering everything.

I just had my fairing off and was wondering the same thing. The HD trim on there now keeps coming off and at times I forget to check it prior to putting the fairing back together. I'll notice it after the fairing is which means take the fairing off and fix the trim!

Go to the auto parts store and get door edge trim. It comes two pieces to a package and works GREAT. You need two pieces that are ~26", so avoid Pep Boys' 24"ones.

That is the auto trim I was talking about. I used it last time ,and I am not a big fan of that stuff either. I am looking for something just a bit more wider and flexable than the Auto trim strips. Anymore ideas guys?

My bike has some soft black rubber channel on the inner, I just bought the bike about a month, and a half ago, so I don't know where it came from....it does keep inside the faring clean, and dry , it is almost as soft as neoprene.
