Initial Impressions - Testing an N93 from wordontheblog.com

Hey happy hofo'ers, I just wanted to give some first impressions here. I'm currently testing out an n93 for wordontheblog.com, and it arrived today to my jaw-dropping surprise!

Initial impressons: wow. I mean, really wow. This phone is physically just stunning. The build quality seems very tough, and the metal housing feels good in the hands.

The screen is where it's really at though. One of the best screens I've ever seen on a mobile device, hands down. Crystal clear, and with way more real estate then my n80.

The UI is snappy, probably on par with my n80 from what I've seen so far.

The external screen is OK, though I prefer the screen on the N90 for it's size and the details shown.

Haven't tested the CAM yet, more to come on that!

Anyway, just some stream of consciousness ramblings here, but I'm definitely stoked to put this thing through it's paces!!! (and wishing I didn't have to return it )

Couple of things to add here.. This keypad is so nice to use, well spaced, good key response.

first negative to report, not the most comfortable to hold to your ear. Kinda reminds me of my old sony z600, little awkward. More to come..
 
You forgot to mention, though, that the keypad is so nice to use and well spaced because the phone is *huge*! But then everyone knows this already.
 
Lol, yeah, i assumed people knew that. but when closed, it's the same thickness as my n80 basically, same width, but maybe 3/4 of an inch longer.

Hmmm that's definitely not right. The N93 is a good 5mm wider than the N80, and is 2mm thicker. The N80 also only has 26mm thickness around the camera lens. The N93 looks as if the 26-28mm thickness continues along the whole length of the phone.
 
Nope but the N93 is 55mm wide and 28mm thick. The N80 is 50mm and 26mm at the tickest point, but this tapers away. The overall difference in size in the hand is very noticeable, I've compared them both in a shop.

Anyway, the best comparison of overall size between devices is their cubic capacity. The N93, at 133cm3, is 35% larger than the N80 at 97cm3. That's a massive difference.
