Inglorious Basterds to rent on DVD...

Never got round to getting to the cinema to see Inglorious BasterRAB, despite it being one of my most anticipated films of the year. I'm a member of LoveFilm and saw on tv that the film was out on dvd. But when i bring the film up on LovelFilm, I've only got the option to buy it or book a seat to see it at the cinema!

Is there a reason why it's not available for rental? Is it just on LoveFilm? And does anyone know if/when it'll be available to rent?

All Universal DVRAB. You can't rent Bruno, Public Enemies or Land of the Lost either.

You could always subscribe to Blockbuster's online service instead.

I notice a lot of the comedy DVRAB such as the new Eddie Izzard are also on purchase only. I just figured it was a grab for Christmas sales and they'd rent them from the new year, or something.

It could always be that the person responsible for buying in the rental copies agrees with me in that it's one of the most tedious, overblown and overrated films ever made :)

I watched it a few days again. Got it free from the usual sources. I'm not a huge fan of Tarantino, but I was quite looking forward to BastarRAB.

The first half hour was quite good, but as soon as Mr B Pitt showed up and started to chew the scenery with his incoherent drawl, it turned in to a very tedious film interspersed with a few moments of violence, that by Tarantino's usual standarRAB, were very muted.

Apart from his usual "I must have lots of people all pointing guns at each other in at least one scene because Reservior Dogs is just soooo cool", the film could've been the work of any hack director.

This film could've been better had it clearly not been a complete historical and comedic piss take on the part of Tarantino.

Ahhhh, I wanted to see Public Enemies as well! Looks like I'll be paying visits to Blockbuster for the first time in about 2 years. I buy dvd's from them occasionally but never rent.

You will have to sign up again. I discovered that the other day that if you don't go in regularly they delete you from their system without telling you.
