Info On New AIM Photo Virus?
Yes, there is a new AIM virus. It spams your AIM buddies with links to photo albums or photo cubes that have been supposedly made of you and them. There are no photos to look at. Just a nice big virus to infect your system
I got a bunch of these when I signed on AIM a few hours ago from numerous people. I have researched the issue and have found that you cannot change your password to avoid the virus. It seems that someone/somebot is signing onto your account remotely to spam your buddies. The first thing I thought to do was to change my password so they can't get in and continue spamming. Many sites and blogs have said this doesn't work. You will just have to wait for this to be over. Since you can't change your password to fix this, it makes be think it is a break over at AOL. Oh no! I've read it SHOULDN'T affect Macs, but I'm not positive. If you get this virus, there IS a way to get rid of it but it takes a number of long steps.
BTW, there are a number of different links that an be sent to you, but they all have something to do with photos. So just be careful!
Anyways, my question is if anyone has any other information on this problem or if anyone knows why this is happening or when it should be resolved.
Thanks!
