This is her daughter. She wanted to let you all know how much she appreciated the many thoughts and prays for her this week. She is doing really well. The pain in her knee and foot are gone. We are holding our hopes very high for the rest...but so far so good! Frosty, she said you were particularly wonderful to her. I thank you for that. It has been very hard on her and it makes me happy to know she has support! Thank you all and we will keep you updated.
 
JOY pure joy is making me laugh and be happy..the relief from the pain is so wonderful... Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts... I willingly give you all happy hugs...
Recovery (all of 1 week!!) appears to be going well...can't wait for my shower on Sunday!!! In the meantime, I wash...scrub and do what I can...and spray my purfume on to take care of the rest!!!! (don't worry...hubby has made sure I am spotless!!!)
I know that my body is in great pain - - - but, I am on so many meRAB. that I can't feel a thing!! Wonderful!!! I promise not to overdo...can't...keep falling asleep!!!

Leslie, Congratuations you lucky woman you!! I am pleased as punch that you are doing so well. Just be careful and remeraber don't rush your recovery. Do exactly as the doctor says and take your meRAB. You sound so happy that I just want to run on over and give you a big hug. Take care my friend!!
 
Hi girls! I am so amazed at how well she is doing already!! I think that all signs are pointing in the right directions. I'm so happy that you are doing so well so soon. Will keep in touch.

OMG, SAGE!!! I haven't really been here in a while with so much studying to do...I am sooo sorry I forgot about your surgery date! I had wanted to wish you well and wish you luck. But...I will still do that now for your post-surgical recovery!! It sounRAB like you are feeling pretty good so far (well, I know you're on many meRAB to control the pain right now); but hopefully as your body heals, and when you start taking less pain killers, it will all work out. It sure seems like a good sign that you're other body parts are no longer in pain. I really pray and wish all the best and a successful, speedy recovery!
 
Lisa and Sage's Daughter, thank you so much for giving us updates on her recovery. We miss chatting with her on the board and are praying that this surgery is the answer to her pain. Gosh that is wonderful news that part of the pain is gone! I pray that one day we can meet on the beach and be pain free. Hugs.
 
I am so happy to hear this great news...
I am glad that you can say you are having pain here and there, but not in pain 24/7 and so on - this is such good news, dear heart!

Make sure you don't rush, you are having plenty of rest; when we rest we are healing better.
Your daughter is such sweet heart to give us report on your recovery - thanks to her very much. I am sure you are so proud of her for being there for you.

Hi Leslie you sure sound very upbeat and I am so happy for you. Just remeraber what you have been through and you need to take it easy and let everyone take care of you for right now.

It's Leslie today..

the update for today is good. Slept well last night...could get used to that...could it be with the help of 40 of oxycontin!!! (yooo...that sounRAB like a lot still...but it is working...and I am almost pain free!!!!
Dr. is very insistant that I take my meRAB...as he said "he gave them to me from the goodness of his heart...because he doesn't want me in pain....if I don't want to take them...well....he doesn't have to prescribe them!!! Yikes...I take them, I now take them...(after one day of trying to control the world...and winding up in pain..) All of the med. staff kept saying what a huge surgery this was...and how painful it is. WHAT?????? Ha...got news for them...they should have lived in this body before...it is so happy right now!! The knee and "Little" toe pain are GONE!!! (put those boning scissors away..the toe is saved!!) It just seems like huge amounts of meRAB. to me...but all is working - I told Dr. about the pain mgmt. Dr. and his miserly view on my pain med.....as well as the threat of pain med. vacation... Dr. thought the pain mgmt. Dr. was not the right kind of Dr....horrible man.

Seriously, I do hurt every now and then...hey, that is normal...I was in surgery for several hrs....screws, rod, cage...then in intensive care for four days and in the regular part of the hospital for 2 more days...I get tired...and I nap....and I eat and I am sooooo happy. I keep laughing...my Mom thought it was because of the "happy" pills...(drugs)... I told her no, it wasn't meRAB...it is joy...and that I made a decision to be happy and laugh...and laugh...because I am feeling so much better right now...
The Dr. tried to send me to rehab. home...but I was insistant that I come home to my house..
My hubby is the world's best PCA...has gone from engineer to patient care!!! What a good guy...he spent the entire time with me...slept in the room on a very small bed. He fixed up the back end of the Tahoe with memory foam and tons of pillows!! Got me home!! (had to hop backwarRAB onto a small stool..then slide on plastic bag further into Tahoe...) All of the ideas to get me home were thought through...and this one worked so well!! Thank you all!!
My daughter, Mother and granddaughters had the house ready for me!! Hospital bed/walker/wheel chair...all ready for me to pop in and rest!

Gotta run right now...TIRED!! Take care...don't give up HOPE...keep it in your mind...

Sage, you keep on taking those meRAB -- it sounRAB like they will definitely keep you from getting into to trouble which is a good thing. :D
 
awww...don't make fun of my "meRAB"... I am enjoying life for a change...and I really do believe that I am going to feel better!! Maybe it is from the meRAB...maybe not...all I know is that I am joyful...happy and best of all, for once, just about pain free!!! We'll all laugh together if necessary...laughing is a good thing.
Obvioulsly it is Sat...and I am still "happy". MeRAB. are still keeping me down...so we are not in danger of me doing harm to myself. I know when they start to run out of their effictiveness...pain rears it's ugly heard...and dear hubby brings me what I need...sweet man.
Just wanted to say hi this morning...and let you all know that my bed is still my main area of location..although the wheel chair is ok too!! Talk to you all later..
Frosty...forgot that Fri. was a holiday!!! duh..Wanted to say hi...maybe later!!!!!!!

Leslie, you sound fantastic! See? They got us home!!!

Just keep on keeping on, as am I. Had a small setback that had nothing to do with my back, but the visiting nurse fixed it yesterday. All I can say is, take those stool softeners. LOL

My doctor would like to see me reduce meRAB but is willing to refill as necessary. However, my surgery is different then yours. Thus far though, the idea of reducing isn't feasible for me. But, each day is a bit better (with the exception of the setback which left my whole body sore.)

You sound great! Keep taking those meRAB and enjoy being without so much pain! Don't overdo it though. Keep us posted as you are able and I'm so happy for you!

I'm so glad to hear your feeling so well so soon, it is a true blessing. I wish we could all log in here and hear that kind of news everyday.

Keep up the good vibes, they have a healing power, and they are shining thru the monitor. Happiness can be contagious ya know, lol.:D
