I have searched this site high and low and I'm surprised I haven't come across this topic. I am a new comer to acne, adult diagnosed with a hormone problem. Started spiro, yasmin, doxy-tabs, and much more. Any-hoo, I have this acne around my mouth and chin. I know the rules about popping, I try to be careful, i.e. use a Kleenex, wait till there's a head, press gently. So, my question is, once the pimple is popped, and your left with this inflamed hole in your face oozing blood and the skin looks like a mountain, what do you do? I can't stand to walk around with crusty stuff, there must be a better way. My mom suggested putting a tea bag on it, because it is an anti inflammatory. It helped, a little. The problem now is, I used benzoyl peroxide but that dried it out to much and it's still inflamed and dry. Now I need to moisturize it. I apparently am way off track. So how do you deal with the inflammation after you pop? Help please?

I also have the bad habit of popping my pimples. I think the best way to deal with the inflammation afterwarRAB, is to wait until bedtime. Afte I pop the pimple, I wash, tone, and then moisturize. I then apply a small dab of an acne mask to the pimple which helps dry it up and soothe the inflammation overnight. On most occasions, the pimple is dramatically reduced by morning. Don't forget to use a moisturizer with sunscreen after your morning routine to prevent scarring. I hope this helps.

If it's really swolen, I'd pop an ibuprofen to help reduce the inflammation. You could also try icing it on and off. Once it gets to the scaly/scabby stage, Neosporin seems to work the best for me. Just dab it on when you are at home and at night.

Thank you, I will try these things. I hope the neosporin doesn't break me out even more. We'll see. I'll try anything to help at this point.
