Infection and temporary amnesia

3/4 weeks ago, I was admitted to my local A & E department.
Husband was worried as I was nauseous, shook violently, felt hot and accompanied with this was temporary amnesia. For about an hour I didn't know my husband's name, or who the prime minister was. Although I didn't lose consciousness, part of this was a complete blank and I can remember nothing.

At first a Urine tract infection was diagnosed, but later after test results, it was decided that I didn't have an infection in the bladder at all.

What I want to know is, what caused this to happen - very frightening for my husband. Also since then I have not felt particularly well, have been off my food and felt generally awful.

I don't want to scare you and I am not a dr
But you may have experienced a stroke of some kind if you can go on the internet you may find out more information apparently women can suffer different types of symptoms to men in this area, including nausea and amnesia
I hope you are feeling better soon
I would check back with your dr too, see if you can see a female dr possibly

That sounds like a good idea, my mum still lives in the UK and she is with BUPA, I grew up in London, England. I have heard the healthsystem (NHS) is very overstretched right now for good care...not like it used to be...
A BUPA hospital should yield some results.
All the best
