infected piercing

Depends on the level of infection. Mild infections can be cleared up with careful washing using a mild antibacterial soap (fragrance free) and daily soaks with saline solution. Dry with paper towels not cotton. A water proof bandage protects against irritation.

A bad infection requires a doctor's care. Pain is bad. Anything smelly or green is bad. Anything red and hot to the touch, hotter than the surrounding skin, is bad.

Don't remove the jewelry yourself. If there's active infection you could make the infection worse.
