Indigestion

My dad is on nexium and antaciRAB but the pain today is just too much, he took a nexium about 7 hours ago and refuses to take another one for another few hours. he complains of stomach pains just above the navel. I gave him a tylenol and some ginger herbal tea. is there anything else that may help quickly?
 
Gaviscon is an OTC medicine that is recommended by my GI doc to supplement my PPI use. It is supposed to help coat the stomach pretty well.
 
This is a good advice. My internist recommended Gaviscon to supplement my Nexium, rather than increasing the 40mg dose of Nexium.

Flowergirl, Are you taking Gaviscon every day? The last time I was at the doctor, I was first seen by a resident and he mentioned that it wasn't a great idea to take Gaviscon every day. I said "but there is no aluminium in it" and he said 'No, but there are other metals and these are not good to ingest on a daily basis." I had heard that aluminium in some OTC products can lead to brain disorders like Alzheimer's down the road, but I didn't know about the other metals. I was taking Gaviscon before bed after cutting my Nexium from 40 mg to 20 mg per day. Will see how I do on just the 20 mg.
