Indiana Jones... [SPOILER]

The Plague

In the last crusade they found the holy grail indy drank from it in the cave with arthur or whoever he was and got everlasting life his dad did not get everlasting life because he drank it outside of the cave thats why indy survived the atomic blast

Yeah, but they took the cup over the seal which they were told not to do. Thus the immortality was lost, hence why Indy's dad has
died
. The lead in the fridge saved him

The reason he didn't die in the blast is that he was in a lead lined fridge - and in a world where Indy can survive falling out of a plane in because he's in a rubber dingy, it's all the explanation needed. Otherwise post #2 cleans up the crackpot theory. At least he only blew something from pretty near the start of the film.

i don't quite grasp this thread...
the first post said that it was the last crusade
meaning it has nothing to do with the new one, crystal skull.
so i guess there's no spoiler if u really are an Indy fan.

but about
the lead fridge
it's a crystal skull scene right??! so we kinda mix it up a bit.

It matters not, anyway. Those lovely admins have edited the thread title.

And so... onto the topic.

Don't be daft. It's nothing to do with the grail (which stopped working if you left the temple). It's just the usual IJ logic that means you can survive jumping from a plane in a rubber dingy, and survive falling off a cliff on a tank by hanging onto a vine, when you patently didn't actually do that in reality. It is B-movie logic, and a lead-lined fridge is quite enough.

Last Crusade was quite clear in stating that immortaility would be lost after crossing the seal. But of the three nights who protected the grail, two left (therefore crossing the seal) and still lived for a couple of hundred years. Not immortal, but they managed to more than double their average expected lifetime.
