Did you happen to see the HD transmission of Raiders?

Apart from the voice-over during the shortened end credits, the film was uncut. Good news.

I've just finished transferring my Sky+ recording to my PC hard drive, also removing that irriating DOG using a simple tool. I'm an extremely happy camper.

Raiders of the Lost Ark in crystal clear 1080iHD. This will do nicely until they all appear in Blu-ray. :D
 
I looked at my recording 10 minutes in to see if it was 2.35:1 and I had playback problems so I deleted it.

Assuming Temple of Doom is on next weekend thats not on BBC HD.

I see the films are re-released on dvd this month but have Paramount bothered to get TOD uncut?

The current version has numerous edits for its PG and the uncut version could get a 12A today.

Thats why I got the US boxset

I haven't watched Temple of Doom on Television for many years now and probably never will do so again, an absolute waste of time. I remember when I first got the US box set and saw it uncut and my intial reaction was "Whoa, and I thought this film was dark enough in its BBFC friendly form" The BBC watershed versions that I can remember had even further edits, and they were all horribly amateurish ones to boot. I haven't ever owned the UK box set, I was politicking over it, but then I found out the BBFC had made further cuts... Forget it! I really abhor the BBFC! Any censorship committee in fact.
 
I've not got a link, but I'm sure I read an interview with the bbfc's media person a while back saying uncut TOD would likely be a 15 and paramount don't want to release it as such.
 
Thats a shame.

Paramount re-released Star Trek 2 with a 15 a while after the cut PG was released - I wonder why they want to continue losing sales in the UK?

I hope the eventual Bluray release in the US wont be region coded
 
Final irony abut indiana jones bbfc certs: KOTCS is probably the least violent of the 4, but has the highest rating, presumably because the bbfc didn't have the option of 12A when the others came out. There's nothing as bad as the face melt/heart removal/rapid aging in KOTCS.
